The reason Roman Reigns was suspended for 30 days by WWE is rumored to be for a positive test for Adderall

Following the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, there was a lot of speculation about the direction that the creative department had for Roman Reigns after they had him lose clean to Seth Rollins and then ultimately put the belt on Dean Ambrose. However, it turned out that there weren’t any plans for the next 30 days (other than being booked for a title match at Battleground) as Roman Reigns was suspended for 30 days for a Wellness Policy violation days after.

While the repercussions of that are still being felt in the days after the WWE Draft, the big elephant in the room has been what exactly Roman Reigns tested positive. The early talk was that it could’ve been steroids, but plenty of other things were mentioned. The latest rumor about what the test was positive for as the suspension is nearing its end is quite interesting, though.

According to the July 20 Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Reigns reportedly tested positive for the ADHD medication Adderall.

Because it’s a stimulant, WWE and other sports leagues consider it to be a mild performance-enhancing drug. Before his release, fans will remember that Adderall is what Adam Rose was suspended for and then caused an uproar about on social media.

Obviously none of this is 100 percent still and we may likely never know definitively what the positive test was for. What we do know is that Reigns is returning at Battleground on Sunday, July 24 and the biggest question is how WWE plans to book him coming off of the positive test and subsequent suspension.
