After some rumors that DeMarcus Cousins was on the trading block, the Kings are reportedly not entertaining any offers.

The year’s NBA Free Agency has been a wild one, with players going everywhere left and right. Obviously, the biggest news was Kevin Durant, but we also had Mike Conley getting the biggest contract in NBA history and Dwyane Wade heading to the Bulls. Earlier in the year, the Kings were reportedly entertaining offers from teams in relation to DeMarcus Cousins, but they have reportedly shut that down.

The Cavs were reportedly in hot pursuit of Cousins, likely offering the oft-injured Kevin Love in a trade for the young star. Cousins still has two years on his contract, so there’s still a chance that the Kings are merely shutting down the trade offers for him this year. Cousins has been very publicly critical of the Kings, saying that he doesn’t really understand their 2016 draft strategy.

Cousins was an All-Star in 2015 and 2016 and if he continues on his current trend in terms of play, he’ll be a hot commodity in two years. The way Cousins has been publicly critical of the Kings is unbecoming, and if the Kings do decide to trade him, it will definitely have plenty to do with his critique.

Cousins had his best offensive season this past year for the Kings, scoring 26.9 points per game and snagging 11.5 rebounds per game. Where he goes will be a mystery, but with Cousin’s set of skills, it will likely be for a lot of money.
