When he entered the NFL before the 2001 season as the new quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons, there was a legit argument that Michael Vick was going to finish his time in the NFL as not just the best Falcon or best quarterback, but maybe the best player to ever play professional football.
Using his arm and his legs, Vick was a force in Atlanta until his career was sidetracked by a conviction for dog fighting that resulted in jail time for the former top overall pick. After making a comeback and changing his image in the eyes of some (while still being not forgiven by others), Vick is currently a free agent hoping to play one more season and wanting a chance at winning the Super Bowl.
During an interview with the Dan Patrick Show on NBC Sports Network, Vick talked about his early days and had a hilarious take about his skills and if he felt bad for defenders he faced:
"“Yeah, I did. Some guys tore their ACLs, sprained ankles. It wasn’t the prettiest situation. There were times in games when I felt was dominating, and I was dominating too much.”"
Haters will talk about how he was so talented but didn’t win a ring, but the truth is that without Michael Vick’s success as a dual threat quarterback in the modern game, players like Russell Wilson don’t happen. Vick’s talents still put him in the conversation as one of the best ATHLETES to ever suit up in the NFL, without question.
