One of major downsides to Olympic Village in Brazil for the 2016 Summer Olympics is that there is the Pokemon Go app doesn’t work there.

There has already been a ton of concerns raised about the habitableness of Olympic Village in Brazil ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympics. This is after the 2014 Winter Olympics, which saw borderline intolerable conditions in Russia’s Olympic Village. Brazil’s Olympic Village is not off to a good start. Not only is it barely clean, Pokemon Go doesn’t even work there, according to United States diver Abby Johnston.

That’s outright unacceptable.

Even though athletes are training for the Olympics and getting used to the climate in Brazil, they still need time to destress. There is perhaps no better way to get stress out of your system then by playing Pokemon, which has taken the world by storm once again. How can athletes function knowing that they can’t catch any Pokemon?

Johnston, a 27 year old, is participating in her second Olympics. She will be participating in the individual three meter diving event after winning a silver medal in London in synchronized three meter diving. Johnston struggled at the 2015 World Championships, finishing 21st in individual three meter diving and ninth in synchronized three meter diving. However, she has done well in the Olympics in the past, so she is still a strong contender to take home a medal of some kind.

Brazil has a lot of issues to address regarding Olympic Village. The least of them is Pokemon.
