What five moves should the Detroit Tigers make by the 2016 MLB Trade Deadline?

It’s been a trying year for the Detroit Tigers and that could mean some major moves by the 2016 MLB Trade Deadline. General manager Al Avila has already said that he plans to stand pat at the deadline because the asking price from sellers is far too high and he believes the Tigers have the talent to make a World Series run.

Avila might be right about the talent to make a run, but he needs to at least attempt to make some moves if this team is ever going to get over the hump.

For the entirety of the year, it seems like the Tigers have been hovering around the .500 mark and they’re currently four games over and about 5.5 out of first place in the AL Central, heading into Tuesday night’s games. They have put together a solid record for having lost a couple major pieces due to injury, but does that mean getting guys back will fix everything? Probably not.

J.D. Martinez went down with a broken elbow over a month ago and he’s finally getting his first rehab start on Tuesday with the Toledo Mud Hens. Jordan Zimmermann has been on the DL for a few weeks and he made his first rehab start on Sunday and second-year stud Daniel Norris is still searching for consistency after a handful of injuries.

What five moves should the Tigers make by the August 1 MLB Trade Deadline in order to become serious contenders down the stretch?
