Who won the Big 12 during the 2015 college football season?

The Big 12 actually only has ten teams, and during the 2015 season, four of them finished in the top-20 in college football. In fact, they had two of the top seven teams in the country and produced some of the best talent in America.

Heading into the 2015 season, TCU was supposed to run away with the conference championship. The team had the best quarterback in the conference, as senior Trevone Boykin was voted as the pre-season Offensive Player of the Year. And while he did have an incredible season, it was just not enough to bring home a conference championship.

The Big 12 will have a conference championship game again, but not this year, so the team with the best record in the conference gets to take home the title of being the conference champion. Last season, the Oklahoma Sooners went 8-1 in the conference, going 11-2 overall, and earned a spot in the College Football Playoff.

The 2015 Sooners boasted two of the best offensive players in the country, as running back Samaje Perine, and wide receiver Sterling Shepard both were First Team All-Conference. Those two played key roles in leading the Sooners to the Orange Bowl, where they took on the number one team in the nation, the Clemson Tigers.

Unfortunately for Bob Stoops and his Sooners, they ran into a juggernaut in the Tigers, who blew the doors off Oklahoma to the tune of a 37-17 blowout. Clemson would go on to face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, but would lose 45-40.

Oklahoma is expected to once again be the top team in the conference in 2016, but like we saw with TCU in 2015, anything can happen.
