Former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher has signed a new four-year extension with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have locked up a four-year extension deal with offensive tackle Eric Fisher. The new deal is reportedly worth $48 million with $40 million guaranteed, with Fisher receiving a total of $63 million for the six years he has left with the team.

On Saturday afternoon, the Chiefs confirmed the deal, but hadn’t disclosed the official details. The latest deal was said to be one that would make him one of the highest-paid tackles in all the NFL, on a per-year basis.

The 6-foot-7 315-pound tackle has started 43 games for the team since 2013. It’s clear the team continues to see his value and thinks he still has plenty of room for improvement after some injuries and inconsistencies resulted in some rough patches early in his career.

Chiefs General Manager John Dorsey said of Fisher, “In three seasons he’s grown significantly as a football player in our system. He’s a tough, physical presence and a leader on our offensive line. We look forward to keeping him as a part of our organization and community.”

Fisher has been a part of the Chiefs’ roster ever since they drafted out of Central Michigan in 2013 as the No. 1 overall pick and has been a part of their playoff teams in his rookie year and last season. Look for his continued growth as he spends his prime years playing for the Chiefs.
