Enes Kanter added insult to injury to the Los Angeles Lakers’ rebuild.

Even though the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers are considered rivals, Enes Kanter doesn’t see it that way. The two teams are heading in opposite directions, as the Lakers are coming off a 17-win season. While they have hope in Brandon Ingram, it will take a while for them to recover from the post-Kobe era and become competitive again.

The Thunder, meanwhile, were one win away from the NBA Finals, and even without Kevin Durant, they’re still a contender especially now that they’ve locked up Russell Westbrook. And that deal ended any misguided hope Lakers fans had that he could end up playing for them. As if the fans didn’t feel bad enough hearing that news, Enes Kanter decided to kick them while they’re down.

The Westbrook deal is just another part of a Lakers’ offseason fell well short of expectations. While they were in play for some of the bigger name free agents, such as Hassan Whiteside, Kevin Durant, and DeMar DeRozan, they ended up adding Timofey Mozgov and Jose Calderon instead.

Even though Kanter probably should’ve congratulated Westbrook on the contract instead of trolling Lakers fans, you have to applaud him for winning the Internet. More than anything, this tweet just validates the fact that Kanter is one of the most savage Twitter users ever.
