Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson made back-to-back ridiculous catches against the New York Jets on Thursday.
Preseason in the NFL got underway on Thursday night, and the stars around the league are already making their mark. Although most star players are just playing a few plays and calling it a night, the Jacksonville Jaguars showed off their passing game early on against the New York Jets. Two plays in a row, Blake Bortles found Allen Robinson for highlight reel catches.
On the first play, Robinson made a beautiful grab to twist his body and get both feet in bounds on a sideline route. Robinson emerged as one of the best wide receivers in football last year and his possession skills allow for plays like this.
His second catch was his best one. As the Jets jumped offsides, the Jaguars had a free play and Bortles threw it deep on a prayer. He put the ball in a spot where only Robinson could get it. Robinson would reach behind his head and snag the pass while falling to the ground.

The Jaguars are hoping to make a big push in the AFC this year and put themselves on the cusp of the playoffs. It’s clear they have the foundations of what could be a really dynamic offense. As long as Bortles and Robinson are on the field, plays like this are bound to happen regularly.
