Live stream information and how to watch the men’s Olympics water polo quarterfinals online and on television on August 16th.

The United States bested undefeated Italy 10-7 on Sunday, but after a rough start and multiple losses in the preliminaries, the win wasn’t enough to earn it a place in the quarterfinals. Team USA finished fifth in Group B, while Italy —despite the loss — managed a third-place showing and a spot in Tuesday’s quarterfinals.

Going into Sunday’s matches, Hungary, Greece, and Brazil were atop the leader board for Group A, while Croatia, Spain, and Italy were in a three-way tie for first place with six points apiece. After Sunday, Hungary and Spain remain the only teams with perfect scores of seven. Japan is still at the bottom of Group A with zero points, while France sits in the basement of Group B. France edged Croatia on Sunday 9-8, which gets them on the board for the first time in the preliminaries.

Team USA notched its first win in the men’s Olympics water polo tournament on Aug. 10, beating France 6-3. The United States played a dominant match, leading the entire game. With less than five minutes to play in the fourth quarter, France was able to score a point to narrow the lead to two, but the United States responded with another goal to pull away down the stretch.
