Olympics rhythmic gymnastics live stream: Watch online – August 19th
Live stream info and how to watch the 2016 Rio Olympics rhythmic gymnastics competition online on Friday, August 19
What many people fail to realize coming into a given Olympic Games is that there are two different types of gymnastics competition. The artistic gymnastics competition always occurs first and is the one most people are more familiar with. However, the other is the rhythmic gymnastics competition that is a whole different ballgame. At Rio 2016 for Day 14 of the games, the rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around qualifying will get underway.
As opposed to watching the likes of Simone Biles doing incredible flips, rhythmic gymnastics is akin to a more athletic dance routine. Each competitor competes with their choice of apparatus (a hoop or ball) and then goes to work trying to complete a routine that is both unique and athletic, but also appealing from the point of rhythm, among other things. As stated previously, it’ll be the all-around qualifying round taking place on Friday.
Russia’s Yana Kudryavtseva and Margarita Mamun are the favorites in Olympics rhythmic gymnastics to get gold and silver in some order. Truly the question is which order the Russian duo will finish in and by how much they’ll win by. Even still, looking out for the upset from someone should be fun as well.
