Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant recently commented on his Madden 17 player rating, calling the number he was given in the video game an ‘insult.”

A popular point of contention year in and out with video game players tends to be the ratings assigned to various athletes in sports games. Just recently, Dez Bryant discussed his “Madden 17” player rating and was not very happy with the score. In fact, he said he felt insulted by the video game company.

According to a Dallas News report on Aug. 21, Bryant responded to a question about a particular Bovada sportsbook betting line. The future odds had him listed as No. 10 choice on the list among receivers to lead all receivers in yards this coming season.

That launched him into a tirade about the new video game. Bryant was somewhat joking, but certainly seemed a bit heated.

"“I play Madden, I [expletive] love Madden. They would do me like that? Oh my God. That is an insult, like why would you do that to me? How much I love y’all. Like what? Not John Madden, because I love him. It’s the developers.”"

Bryant’s rating for the upcoming game is a 90. That’s a six-point drop from his rating in the previous “Madden” video game. However, he did have a 2015 season marred by injuries which may have led to the lower rating. There are also several players with better ratings who rightfull deserve them. Including Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Odell Beckham Jr., and AJ Green.

On Tuesday, EA Sports, the company responsible for the creation and marketing of the game, had some fun trolling Bryant on Twitter.

While the Cowboys wide receiver seems upset during that post-game interview, he showed he was really OK with EA. Hours ago, Bryant tweeted his response to the video game company.

Even though it’s all in good fun, Bryant expects that number will go higher. Bryant said in Friday’s post-game interview, “Like I told Madden, they put me at 90, I’m not worried about that. That rating going to shoot up real quick, you best believe that.”

Watch out for Bryant to have a Madden-inspired season for all seasons in 2016-17. However, he’ll want to avoid appearing on the next game cover with that known “Madden curse” out there!
