According to ESPN 980, Bryan Stork failed his physical with the Washington Redskins after being traded from the New England Patriots.

The epic saga continues. Ever since center Bryan Stork was traded from the New England Patriots to the Washington Redskins, things have gotten weird. He was going to be released from the Patriots before the trade. Stork reportedly considered retirement before the Redskins convinced him otherwise. Now, according to ESPN 980 in Washington DC, Stork has failed his physical and will return to the Patriots.

Washington gave up a conditional draft pick in 2017, which will be returned to them, for Stork. Stork has seen his stock fall after an impressive start to his NFL career. After being the starting center for the Florida State Seminoles during their BCS title run in 2014, Stork started in the Super Bowl for the Patriots just 13 months later. In 2013, he was named a unanimous All-American and was named to the All-ACC first team.

Due to injuries, Stork only appeared in eight games for the Patriots in 2015 and started just six games. It remains to be seen why the Patriots were willing to release him. Perhaps it has something to do with the neck injuries and concussions that caused him to miss eight games in 2015.

The Redskins will need to move on to other options as they try to get more depth for their offensive line. They will need it as they look to defend their 2015 NFC West division title. The Redskins appear to be in good shape to do so even with Stork. Still, they should explore adding depth to their offensive line.

As far as for Stork, for now his career with the Patriots continues. But his future with the team is certainly in question and he could find himself out of a job fairly soon.
