Following the severe knee injury that he suffered on Tuesday, will Teddy Bridgewater miss the entirety of the 2016 NFL season?

The Minnesota Vikings will be entering the 2016 season not the way they wanted to. This was a team that many believed had a Super Bowl run in them, but those hopes might have been crushed on Tuesday. During regular practice, third-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went down with a non-contact knee injury, and the initial reports were less than optimistic.

Right off the bat as the reports started to roll in, everyone started to wonder the worst: Will the former first-round pick of the Vikings be out for the entirety of the 2016 NFL season? ‘

Well, not long after the injury, a press conference was held by head coach Mike Zimmer and he was able to address the injury. As the presser started, Zimmer noted that Bridgewater had been taken to a local hospital where he was currently being evaluated. Now because all of the required testing isn’t done just yet, there was no update given for Bridgewater at this particular time. But while nothing is official, Zimmer is certainly getting himself ready for the worst.

When you look back at all of the reports that came out, including one that stated Bridgewater’s knee was “flailing” around and his teammates were vomiting at the sight of it, you can almost certainly count on the fact that the Vikings will be trying to make their Super Bowl run without their franchise quarterback this season.

Just an unfortunate turn of events for a team with so much promise entering the season and a player in Teddy B who looked like he was really to break through here in his third season in the NFL.
