Bridgewater would go on to say that he draws inspiration from his mother, who fought breast cancer when he was playing in college at the University of Louisville. He would end his press release with the following powerful sentences: “My faith is strong, my faith is unwavering, and my vision is clear. My purpose will not be denied.”

His road to recovery will be an arduous one. Though he is not going to play a down for the 2016 Vikings, Bridgewater can and still will be a leader for this football team.
