The Baltimore Ravens cut running back Justin Forsett on Saturday, as the team set their 53-man roster. Forsett led the team in rushing in 2015.

For the past two seasons, Justin Forsett has been the main back for the Baltimore Ravens. After bouncing around the NFL during his first seven seasons, Forsett found a home in Baltimore. He rushed for over 1,200 yards in his first season with the team in 2014, and was once again the leading rusher last season.

During the 2015 season, Forsett split time with Javorius “Buck” Allen at the running back position. In November, Forsett saw his season end due to injury, paving way for Allen to become the feature back. Allen played well in the final two games of the season, and will now take on a bigger role in 2016.

Saturday was cut day in the NFL, as teams had to trim their roster to 53 by 4pm ET. Surprisingly, the Ravens said goodbye to Forsett, making him one of the biggest cuts of the day. The 30-year old Forsett will now be available to any team that wants him, and there are plenty of teams who could use help at the running back position.

For the Ravens, they will now head into the season with Allen and Terrance West as their main running backs. West is a punishing runner, and will be a nice change of pace when he is in the game.

Baltimore will also welcome back Joe Flacco in 2016, as their star signal-caller missed the last six games of the season due to injury. Flacco appears healthy and ready to go, and should be able to lead the Ravens back to respectability in the AFC North.

Flacco has plenty of weapons at receiver this season, as Steve Smith Sr. came back for another season. Kamar Aiken emerged as a superstar in 2015, and Mike Wallace should be in for a bounce-back season.

The Ravens open up their 2016 season at home against the Buffalo Bills on September 11.
