Denver defeated the Carolina Panthers to kickoff the 2016 NFL season, and they want you to know this isn’t the first time.

Reeling from a tough loss in last season’s Super Bowl, the Panthers were looking for revenge. They weren’t looking at Peyton Manning, he was in the booth with Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth this time around. Carolina met Trevor Siemian under center for the Broncos. The previously unheralded second-year pro beat out Mark Sanchez to become Denver’s successor to Manning.

No way a guy making his first career start was going to beat Newton and the vaunted Panthers defense…..until that’s exactly what happened. Siemian’s line wasn’t great (178 yds, 1 TD/2 Ints), but he got the W. The Broncos rallied from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Carolina. And if you missed it, or needed to hear it again, the Broncos Twitter account is here to remind you.

This isn’t the first troll. Denver’s twitter fingers have established them as one of the premier social media trolls in professional sports. After their Super Bowl win, Von Miller took shots at the Panthers “dab” dance with “crying Jordan face” in this photo on NJ.com. Let’s not forget this gem from back in June either.

Carolina did walk right into that one.

The loss has to be excruciating to Panther fans. After going 15-1 in 2015 they’ve now lost two straight, both to Denver. Worst of all, they won’t get a chance to redeem themselves this year unless both teams find themselves in Super Bowl LI. Well played, Broncos twitter. Well played.
