ESPN Fantasy Football crashed during Week 1 action, which sent fans into an extreme panic — rightfully so.

Fantasy football is life, but what happens when things go dark? That was a reality that we all faced of Sunday afternoon — a day that was supposed to be full of NFL celebration. ESPN is one of the biggest homes of fantasy football, but their servers were not ready to handle the load that was put on it with the first week of action.

Around the middle of the first quarter for most games, fans bean noticing a problem with their ESPN Fantasy Football scores. It’s not that they weren’t adding up, it’s that they weren’t showing up at all. The servers crashed out and the ESPN Fantasy site was unreachable for everyone.

The site came back up intermittently, but for the most part it was a disaster to try and see your score. As of the writing of this post, the site is still mostly down, which is bad news. In fact, that NFL Fantasy commercial just came on where Rich Eisen asks the important question of what we’d talk about without fantasy.

Thanks to ESPN crashing out, fans finally know.

Needless to say, fans who were trying to get there scores were not happy about the servers going down.

It wasn’t a good day for ESPN Fantasy. From leagues that have money on the line to leagues that people just want to keep up on for bragging rights, a world without fantasy football is not a world any of us want to live in.
