The Jacksonville Jaguars hit the road to take on the San Diego Chargers in Week 2 of the NFL slate. Here are the betting odds and trends for the game.

The San Diego Chargers lost a heartbreaker during Week 1 of the NFL regular season, blowing a 21-3 half time lead against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs came all the way back, scoring a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Quarterback Alex Smith scored on a two-yard touchdown run in overtime, giving the Chiefs the win.

In Week 2, the Chargers will open up their home schedule against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who also lost in close fashion on Sunday. The Jags actually made a nice drive at the end of the game, converting three fourth-downs, but eventually the drive stalled. They have never won in San Diego, but will be looking to buck that trend in Week 2.

The game opened with an over/under of 48, but that has been shaved down to 47. In seven of the last eight matchups between the two teams, the over has been the winning bet, and that should continue on Sunday. Expect a lot of offense in this contest, especially through the air.

As far as trends, the Chargers have won five straight against the spread (ATS) against the Jaguars. However, they are only 1-6 in their last seven games overall ATS, though the line is only -3. On the road, Jacksonville is 6-5-2 ATS in their last 13 games.

Line: SD (-3)
Over/Under: 47

The Jaguars are a team that are on the upswing, and if they want to be in the conversation of playoff contenders, they are going to have to win some games on the road. The Chargers will be without star wide receiver Keenan Allen in Week 2, after he tore his ACL in the season opener. That should limit the Chargers offense, which went stagnant after his injury late in the second quarter.

Both teams covered the spread in Week 1, and I expect the Jaguars to be the one who covers on Sunday. The Chargers are short-handed on offense, and the defense has a ton of leaks in it. Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles can rack up the yardage in bunches, so expect wide receivers Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns to get theirs in Week 2.
