It’s safe to say that after scoring a touchdown to give the Cal Golden Bears a lead at home over No. 11 Texas, Chad Hansen doesn’t like Texas.

If you’re new to watching Chad Hansen and the California Golden Bears late at night when football gets crazier than usual, you probably don’t understand how #Pac12AfterDark works.

Just know that things get crazy, and sometimes, they’re humorous as well.

For example, Chad Hansen’s touchdown against Texas to give Cal a 35-33 lead at halftime on Saturday night. Hansen caught a 23-yard touchdown from Davis Webb — Webb’s third touchdown toss of the game — and trolled Texas in the meanest way possible.

You can insult Bevo and make fun of the Longhorns being “burnt orange”, but insulting the “Hook ‘Em” sign? That’s just asking for trouble.

But, trouble has found the No. 11 Longhorns in their meeting with unranked Cal on Saturday night. It’s been a back-and-forth affair out west and it definitely has the feeling of a game that’s going to come down to whoever has the football last.

Points have been handed out like pancakes at your local IHOP restaurant in this game and it doesn’t appear that either team is going to be slowed down in the second half. It’s truly a matter of “the first team to 60 points wins” for Texas and Cal.

For Texas, it’s about keeping freshman star quarterback Shane Buechele healthy and upright after missing some time in the first half after a big hit and keeping the Golden Bears out of the endzone.

As for Hansen and Cal, their defense isn’t likely going to stop the Longhorns in the second half. The best thing they can hope for is a track meet with points in bunches and wacky things happen by the play to pull off the upset.
