Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski active vs Texans for Thursday Night Football
By Jack Crosby
Rob Gronkowski will indeed be active and on the field Thursday night when the Patriots take on the Texans
Heading into the Thursday Night Football matchup this week between the New England Patriots and Houston Texans, the question on everyone’s minds was whether or not the game would mark the debut of one of the more polarizing figures in the NFL, Rob Gronkowski. Well, if you were waiting to get your Gronk fix three weeks into the season, you’re in luck.
It was officially announced on Thursday, just a few hours before the game kicks off, that the Patriots tight end will be active for the game. So, as some weapons are missing from the Patriots’ arsenal at the moment, this is one huge addition that should help the team immensely.
Gronkowski, certainly one of the more popular players in the league at the moment, has been battling hamstring injuries since the preseason. The issues have caused him to miss the first two games of the Patriots’ season, although even as they battled quarterback issues along the way as well, they were able to come away with wins.

Certainly, Gronkowski being inserted into the lineup on Thursday night has to give a huge sigh of relief to the young man that will be starting under center for New England against the Texans, rookie Jacoby Brissett. We know that Tom Brady is still serving his four-game suspension, and in last week’s win, backup Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a shoulder injury, thrusting young Brissett into the spotlight.

He”ll have a tough test in that Texans defense on Thursday night, but he has to be relieved to know that he has maybe the best tight end in football out there on the field with him to help him out of some tight spots.
Gronk is back and we’re all better off for that.
