Rams at Buccaneers: Highlights, score and recap
By John Buhler
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Los Angeles Rams for a Week 4 game at Raymond James Stadium. Here are the highlights, a recap, and the final score.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) will play their first home game of the season when they welcome the NFC West’s Los Angeles Rams (1-1) for a Week 3 kickoff in Tampa. Start time from Raymond James Stadium is at 4:05 PM ET. FOX will have the telecast.
Tampa Bay was embarrassed on the road in Week 2 versus the Arizona Cardinals, 40-7. Los Angeles got its first win of the season by beating the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks, 9-3 at home in Week 2.
This is a prove-it game for Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston. Can he stay more consistent in the NFL as a passer in his second professional season? Los Angeles has the worst offense in football, as the Rams have yet to get into the end zone entering Week 3.
Tampa Bay is a home favorite in this game, but have the worse defense of these two games. Should Winston get the Buccaneers into the end zone thrice, it’s over for the Rams. If this game is a low-scoring affair, Los Angeles has what it takes to pull off a stunning road victory in Week 3. Here are the projected three stars from this game:
Three Stars
- Jameis Winston: Winston will bounce back from his dismal Week 2 performance against Arizona. He will complete 58% of his passes for 225 yards, two touchdowns, and two turnovers. Winston will gain an additional 35 yards with his legs.
- Todd Gurley: Gurley will get the Rams into the end zone for the first time in 2016 on Sunday against a struggling Buccaneers defense. He will have 110 yards on 20 carries for two touchdowns. Gurley will have an additional two receptions for 14 yards.
- Aaron Donald: Donald will be a huge factor in this game for the Rams. He will limit the Buccaneers’ overall effectiveness on the ground. Donald will have five tackles, 1.5 for a loss of yardage, one sack, one pass deflection, and one forced fumble.
