The Minnesota Vikings will play host to the New York Giants on Monday Night Football in Week 4 of the 2016 NFL regular season.

The Minnesota Vikings opened up a beautiful new stadium for the 2016 season, and on Monday night, it will play host to its first Monday Night Football game. Long gone are the days of freezing during the NFL season in Minnesota, as the new US Bank Stadium has a retractable roof. On Monday, two NFC teams will do battle, and it could be a matchup of two potential playoff teams.

The New York Giants were looking to move their record to 3-0 this past week, as they hosted the Washington Redskins. In a game filled with turnovers and penalties, the Giants let a golden opportunity slip through their fingers. They allowed the Redskins to stay in the game, and eventually lost to their division rival.

Eli Manning and company have one of the more high-powered offenses in the league, and boast arguably the best wide receiving corps in the NFL. Odell Beckham Jr. leads a group that includes Victor Cruz and Sterling Shepard, giving Manning a plethora of playmakers on the outside. The defense is also improved from last year, giving the Giants a solid all-around team.

Incredibly, the Minnesota Vikings have started the year 3-0 after losing their starting quarterback during the preseason. Teddy Bridgewater blew out his knee towards the end of camp, prompting the team to make a trade for a new starter. In stepped Sam Bradford, who has done a fantastic job leading the Vikings offense this season.

The Vikings also lost their star running back this season, as Adrian Peterson was injured during Week 2. He may not be able to return this season either, and the team will have to go with a running back committee the rest of the way.

The good thing for the Vikings is that they have arguably the best defense in the league, and showed that this past week against the Carolina Panthers.

Minnesota was able to hold Cam Newton in check, which is not an easy thing to do, en route to winning a huge game on the road. Despite all the injuries, the Vikings look primed to be a contender in the NFC, and should be able to at least be a Wildcard winner in 2016. There is still a lot of football left, but Monday night’s game is sure to be a good one.
