A fan decided that throwing a full size football helmet at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was something that needed to happen this weekend.
The Dallas Cowboys are finally stating to turn the corner after a miserable run the last few seasons. Injuries to quarterback Tony Romo sunk the team’s hopes of making a Super Bowl run the past two seasons — and really the entire tenure of Romo in Dallas.
But with the Dak Prescott era now officially dawning, things are looking up like never before. Even during the Troy Aikman era, the Cowboys have never really had a consistently healthy quarterback, and Dak seems to be that and so much more.
But still, the Cowboys claim to be America’s Team and fans turn out in droves where ever they play. One Cowboys fan was trying to get an autograph from Jerry Jones on a full-sized Cowboys helmet, and threw it at him.
It’s never a good idea to throw things at old people, let’s face it, their reflexes aren’t sharp.
For Cowboys haters, this probably isn’t the first time that someone has wanted to throw something at Jones and that contingent people (Giants, Redskins, Eagles fans) probably enjoyed this kind gesture going awry.
To his credit, Jerry doesn’t cower and run into the tunnel. He took it like a man and proceeded to pick things up off the ground and sign them for fans. If that’s not Texas Tough (by a guy from Arkansas), I don’t know what is.
