2016 Vice-Presidential debate live stream: How to watch online
By Buckie Wells
Tonight marks the first 2016 Vice-Presidential debate. Here are all the details you need to catch the Vice-Presidential debate live stream online.
Similar to last week’s presidential debate, each nominee’s VP will square off for 90 minutes. Ideally, this is America’s chance to get to know them a little better. However, it’s kind of like meeting them for the first time.
Since Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton announced Mike Pence and Tim Kaine, respectively, as their running mates, there’s been a big question mark surrounding the presidential race. Well, a secondary question mark, at least. As divisive as the entire election has been, many voters are simply confused by the candidates’ platforms. Instead of making a well-informed choice, Americans find themselves choosing between the lesser of two evils.
The debates are meant to correct that.
CBS news anchor Elaine Quijano moderates the debate tonight. It’s her job to referee Kaine, a senator from Virginia, and Pence, the governor of Indiana. As Politico puts it, tonight will focus heavily on Trump’s taxes and probably remind America of what a peach Joe Biden has been during his time in office.
Admittedly, we didn’t know much about Joe Biden when President Obama selected him as his running mate either.
So, here are the details for how you can watch the VP debate online:
Date: Tonight — Tuesday, October 4
Where: Farmville, Virginia
Time: 9-10:30 p.m. EST
Channels: CBS or other news networks
Live streams: News network apps, Twitter, Facebook, and the YouTube channels of major news outlets, like NBC News
Next: Alec Baldwin makes fun of Donald Trump saying ‘wrong’ (Video)
After tonight, the next debate will be between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton again on Sunday night. CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC’s Martha Raddatz will moderate a “town hall meeting” style debate that will give participants the floor to ask their questions.
