NFL roundup: Sam Bradford, Vikings still undefeated
By Brad Weiss
Sam Bradford looks to be the right man to captain the ship in Minnesota, as the Vikings moved to 4-0 in the 2016 NFL regular season.
When Teddy Bridgewater went down on Aug. 30 with a dislocated knee and a torn ACL, the Vikings’ season looked to be over. However, the front office swung a deal for then-Philadelphia Eagles starter Sam Bradford, and the move has come up roses.
Bradford is now 3-0 as the starter in Minnesota, and after Monday night’s beatdown of the New York Giants, the 4-0 Vikings look to be a serious contender in the NFC.
Welcome back Mr. Brady. Tom Brady made his return to the New England Patriots on Monday, as he has officially finished his four-game suspension. His return could not come soon enough, as the Pats were shutout for the first time at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. The Pats also expect to get Rob Ninkovich back from his suspension, as they battle the sorry Cleveland Browns this Sunday.
Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is currently day-to-day with a right thumb sprain, and could return soon. However, he may not have a position to return to, as Brian Hoyer led the Bears to a home victory over the Detroit Lions this past weekend. Bears head coach John Fox hinted on Monday that Hoyer may keep the job when Cutler returns.
Josh Gordon has entered rehab to get his life together, and the Cleveland Browns have made it known they plan to part ways with the troubled wide receiver. Gordon was suspended for the first four games of the season, and was expected to have his suspension lifted on Monday.

However, he is to remain on the reserve/suspended list, and there is no timetable as to when it will be lifted. Cleveland has spent four draft picks on receivers since Gordon has been suspended, and former quarterback Terrelle Pryor Sr. appears to be the real deal at the position.
The Atlanta Falcons put a hurting on the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday, as Julio Jones went nuts against the defending NFC champs. Jones racked up 300 yards against the Panthers, as Atlanta won a laugher at home.

While not a member of the Falcons, Josh Norman took great delight in the drubbing on Sunday. Norman, who the Panthers let walk due to money issues, despite being their best defensive back, took a shot at his former team on Monday. “You get what you pay for,” Norman said Monday on ESPN’s The Dan Le Batard Show.
