Coming off a huge win against Louisville, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson continues to bolster his Heisman resume, scoring two early touchdowns against Boston College.

If anyone was expecting a drop-off game from Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson after leading the Tigers to a huge win over Lamar Jackson and the Louisville Cardinals last week, they were likely disappointed through the first quarter of Friday night’s game.

In a road game against the Boston College Eagles, Watson and the Tigers quickly built a 21-3 first quarter lead by the power of Watson’s throwing arm.

With the Tigers already leading 7-3 late in the opening quarter, Watson delivered a nine-yard strike to wide receiver Mike Williams to put Clemson up 14-3.

Watson’s first touchdown of the night was set up by another dime to Mike Williams that put the Tigers in scoring range:

Aside from an impressive grab by Williams, Watson placed the ball perfectly on both throws to give his team a bit of an extra cushion in this ACC matchup.

Less than two minutes later, Watson’s pass to a wide open Jordan Leggett went for 56 yards and a touchdown to give the Tigers a commanding 21-3 lead before the second quarter had even started.

Early in the second quarter, Watson is 5-for-9, with two of his completed passes going for touchdowns. He has 126 yards and is averaging 14.0 yards per throw in the early stages of the game.

Boston College won’t just roll over and die in an ACC matchup against the No. 2 ranked team in the nation, but if Watson continues to rack up stats and touchdowns like this, they might just be shoved over instead.
