Canadiens vs Senators live stream: Watch online
Here’s how to watch Saturday night’s Atlantic Division clash between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators online.
A pair of 1-0 teams will look to continue their strong starts to the 2016-17 season when the Ottawa Senators host the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Ottawa opened the season with a 5-4 overtime win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday in the wildest game of the year so far. Despite four goals from Maple Leafs rookie phenom Auston Matthews, the Senators pulled out the victory behind Kyle Turris’ goal 37 seconds into overtime.
Turris also scored midway through the third to even things up at four, while Bobby Ryan opened the scoring for Ottawa. Star defenseman began his quest for a third career Norris Trophy with a goal and two assists.
The Canadiens began the season with an impressive 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabers, a team many pegged as a possible playoff contender in the East. Backup goalie Al Montoya made 30 saves filling in for Carey Price, who was out with an illness and is not expected to join the team by Saturday.
Brandon Gallagher scored twice to lead the Canadiens, with new acquisition Andrew Shaw also adding his first goal for Montreal. Defenseman Shae Weber, who was acquired in a controversial trade for fan favorite P.K. Subban over the offseason, registered an assist.
A second straight win to open the year would help to ease some of the uneasiness surrounding the Canadiens this season after all the offseason moves. Meanwhile, new head coach Guy Boucher’s team could get some early-season confidence with a win over an Atlantic Division contender.
