Dez Bryant injures fingers making homemade soup

Dez Bryant cut his finger trying to be a culinary master, apparently

Add Dez Bryant’s name to the list of athletes who have found unusual and comical ways to land on the injury report.

Reported by Jane Slater, Bryant cut his middle and index fingers on his right hand while slicing carrots for his own homemade soup. Bryant called the injury minor following practice.

Bryant was seen on field running routes but not catching passes during Cowboys practice. The Cowboys star has not played since injuring his knee during the Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears.

With the Cowboys currently on a bye week, the finger injury does not figure to be an issue moving forward for Bryant. The Cowboys play hosts to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football in Week 8. In three games this season, Bryant has 11 catches for 150 yards and one touchdown.

With the injury described as minor, Bryant will have to deal with being the butt of jokes online and TV. Expect ESPN to be having all of their talking heads make a comment or pun on how Bryant injured his finger.

I am sure I cannot be the only person who envisioned Dez Bryant wearing a chef hat making his own soup. I’m sure others find the idea comical. Maybe Bryant will attempt to turn cooking into a post-football career. Can anyone else picture Bryant hosting his own TV show on the Cooking Channel? Cooking with Dez would surely get some viewers to the Cooking Channel. There is no word yet on what type of soup Bryant was making, or if Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones will ban his players from cooking.
