Game of The Week: No. 5 Texas A&M at No. 1 Alabama

It was just a couple of seasons ago that the Aggies went into Tuscaloosa and shocked the college football world with a win over the eventual national champs. While it was the coming out party for some quarterback named Johnny, it was also the last win for the men from College Station in this series.

Since they, ‘Bama has not only won the last three games…but has done so by an average of 28 points a game (aided mainly by a 59-0 beatdown during the 2014 season). The 2016 edition of the SEC West battle looks like it will be a lot closer on paper – but that’s what makes Nick Saban’s team so deadly.

Alabama is starting freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts and making ranked teams like Tennessee last week look silly. On the road, the Crimson Tide were in control the entire time and blew out the team considered to be the “best” from the East Division.

I’m not saying the Aggies can’t win the game – but on the road against an Alabama team that is looking more and more like the championship favorite each week, it’s going to take a complete game and some of that magic from the 2012 game. I think that quarterback named Manziel has some free time on his hands…wonder what he’s up to.
