Cleveland Cavaliers star Tristan Thompson is reportedly engaged to Khloe Kardashian and will be the latest couple to get their own reality show.

Earlier this year, Cleveland Cavaliers star Tristan Thompson began a relationship with TV personality, Khloe Kardashian. This came a few months after the Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals.

Well, after a short time dating, Thompson and Kardashian are already going to tie the knot. According to In Touch Weekly, they recently became engaged and are attempting to get their own reality show so they can marry on camera.

If so, this is the latest Kardashian relationship with a NBA player. Khloe married former Los Angeles Lakers star, Lamar Odom. They have since been in the public spotlight for Odom’s drug problems, which saw him overdose in 2015.

Kim Kardashian had been married to Atlanta Hawks player Kris Humphries and got featured on multiple reality shows. They had a highly-publicized televised marriage in 2011, but got divorced after only 72 days.

These Kardashian relationships are often highly-publicized and can be a distraction for teams. It sees their players get non-sports related mainstream media and be involved in the world of reality TV. In the past, some haven’t been affected by this, but given recent history with Odom, Humphries, and even James Harden, it doesn’t make them look good in the public eye.

The Cavs will probably hope Tristan Thompson’s off-the-court situation doesn’t provide a distraction as they look to repeat as NBA Champions in the 2016-17 season. He’ll also look to improve on his 7.8 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game from the previous year. Cleveland will be one of the NBA’s top teams, and needs the five-year pro’s contributions for the upcoming year.
