Flames vs Blues live stream: Watch online
Here’s how to watch Saturday’s matchup between the Calgary Flames and St. Louis Blues online.
The St. Louis Blues will try to snap a two-game losing streak when they visit the Calgary Flames on Saturday night at the Saddledome.
After losing some key pieces in the offseason including longtime captain David Backes, the Blues beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 on opening night as part of a 3-0 start. Since then, St. Louis has dropped games to the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers to begin its Western Canada road swing.
Stars Paul Stasny and Vladimir Tarasenko have carried the load with six points apiece so far, while newcomer Nail Yakupov has provided a pair of goals after coming over from Edmonton. The Blues handed the starting goaltending job to Jake Allen by trading Brian Elliott to the Flames in the offseason, and he has allowed just shy of two goals per contest in four games so far.
The Calgary Flames took a step back with a playoff miss in 2015-16, but were expected to bounce back behind a talented young roster. It’s been a struggle so far, as Calgary fell to 1-3-1 with a 4-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at home on Thursday night.
Former Blue Troy Brouwer has three goals for his new squad, which is tied for the team lead with Michael Frolik. While others like Mikael Backlund are off to strong starts, the Flames could use more production from players like Dougie Hamilton and Johnny Gaudreau. Chad Johnson has been much more effective than Elliott in goal with 48 saves on 52 shots.
