The Miami Dolphins came up on top over the Buffalo Bills, 28-17 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.

Buffalo’s offense came storming into this game, and for most of the game, especially their rushing attack. The Dolphins defense came to play. The Bills had been rooted to the running game, but perhaps LeSean McCoy’s injury changed that. They asked Tyrod Taylor to do more, and he couldn’t.

Cornerback Byron Maxwell gave up a 67-yard touchdown to Marquise Goodwin. He had another rough game, and the Dolphins are now looking foolish for acquiring him via trade. He even had a taunting call on him, and I’m not sure what he can taught about because of how poor of a player he’s been. Ryan Tannehill continues to be sluggish, but their offensive philosophy doesn’t require him to be the feature player anymore. Leading 21-17, Tannehill hit Kenny Stills for 66 yards to stretch their lead and seal the deal.

It’s now Jay Ajayi time in Miami. Ajayi is now the 4th player in NFL history to run for over 200 yards in back to back games. He’s the first since 2002 to do it. Their running game accumulated 257 yards on the ground, and two scores. Ajayi finished with 214 yards on 29 carries, averaging 7.4 yards per attempt. He also had a 53-yard run.

Three Stars

1-Jay Ajayi

The second-year running back out of Boise State has shined in back to back games. Rushing for over 200 yards in two straight weeks is quite the accomplishment in today’s pass happy league. Ajayi will be the featured player in this offense for the rest of the year.

2-Dolphins run defense

The Dolphins run D kept Buffalo under 100 yards, quite impressive for a team that had exploded in recent weeks on the ground.

3-Dolphins offensive line

Buffalo came into the game as a decent run stopping team, but they left their big boy shoes at home on Sunday. Give credit to Miami up front though, as their group out leveraged Buffalo’s front three.

Next Week

The Dolphins will remain at home play the Jets, and the Bills will head back home to play the Patriots for the second time.
