Chelsea face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Oct. 22. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Most of the attention has been placed on Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge when it should focus squarely on how much it means to the two competing Premier League teams, both of whom have title aspirations.
Chelsea, with 16 points from eight matches, are two points ahead of Manchester United and, if they can see off their northern rivals, will to move into the top three.
John Terry has recovered from an ankle injury and is expected to play while United center-back Chris Smalling is doubtful after suffering a muscle injury in the Europa League midweek.
Three of the last four games between these two juggernauts resulted in stalemates, the last of which a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in February. Chelsea last won this fixture 3-1 in January 2014.
Neither team takes many risks in this historically cagey and defensive encounter and we expect more of the same on Sunday.
Both teams come into the game in similar form. Chelsea, with two wins, is faring slightly better in their last five matches while United’s sole victory in the same timespan came against Leicester on Sept. 24, who they brushed aside 4-1 at home.

I suppose we must briefly mention the self-proclaimed “Special One.” Mourinho makes his return to Stamford Bridge for the first time since being sacked by Chelsea last season. Though he won’t admit it, the enigmatic Portuguese maestro will be out for revenge.
The match has stalemate written all over it but we’re hoping for at least one decisive moment from this contingent of bona fide superstars. It will take magical moment or a defensive blunder for either team to walk away with all three points.
