LeBron James received his highly-anticipated championship ring on Tuesday night.

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers became NBA champions in June when they defeated the Golden State Warriors. They had to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the process, but managed to shock the NBA world by pulling this off. It’s a title that the city of Cleveland had looked for in basketball for decades and finally accomplished.

As for James, he returned to Cleveland in 2014 to win this illustrious title in his home state. It came after four championship-filled years with the Miami Heat, so he looked to carry that success back over to his original franchise.

Well, on Tuesday night, King James and the Cavs received their rings before their game against the New York Knicks. Fans packed the Quicken Loans Arena for this historic moment, which tipped off the 2016-17 NBA season.

A more specific moment from this was LeBron getting his ring. He did so, then spoke to the thousands in attendance.

He also wasn’t shy about showing off his new jewelry:

It’s a terrific moment for James and the city of Cleveland, who were joyous in this momentous occasion. This set up for a wild night of basketball and celebration.

As for the Cavs, they are stepping into a season-long title defense. They’ll likely remain favorites in the Eastern Conference with the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors behind them. Neither team may stand a chance by the spring, though.

The real concern may be the Warriors, who added superstar Kevin Durant to the mix. If they collide in June for a third consecutive year, could this former NBA MVP be the difference?
