Warriors head coach Steve Kerr nearly blew a gasket when he saw Draymond Green not getting back on defense.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has the task of making this super team work together. Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson are all supremely talented players, but a cohesive, unselfish unit isn’t going to be created overnight.

Recently, Ethan Sherwood Strauss of ESPN wrote a piece on Green being Golden State’s potential problem for the 2016 season. He noted the former Michigan State star’s issues with Kerr, who said he knows the coach “hated me”, and that “Luke’s my guy”. He’s referring to former Warriors assistant Luke Walton, who’s now the head coach of the Lakers. While it’s not a foregone conclusion that Green will cause issues, there are a few signs that may indicate this in the future.

One incident on Wednesday night will only further possible tension with Green. During the second quarter of the opening game, the Spurs rebounded a missed Andre Iguodala shot and drove it down the court. All but one Warrior player was there to defend, with Green being way behind the play. This led to Kerr chewing him out as he crossed halfcourt. A few expletives were probably thrown around as well.

While only one instance, this isn’t the best sign for a team trying to work through the kinks. This can’t happen early and often, otherwise, it will cause more tension between Green and Kerr. If they still hate each other, then the situation could quickly come to a boiling point.

However, with all the talent on the Warriors, maybe this potential problem with Draymond Green will be hidden. Losing highlights every little thing, but winning cures all.
