College Basketball 2016: What are the early season tournaments?

What are the early season NCAA college basketball 2016 tournaments and who’s playing in them?

One of the best parts of the college basketball season are the early season tournaments. It’s a chance for top teams to play against each other while traveling to unique parts of the country. During the College Basketball 2016 season, there will be 19 early season tournaments, with 17 of them taking place in November.

The Maui Invitational is in Lahaina, Hawaii. It will feature Tennessee vs. Wisconsin, Georgetown vs. Oregon, Oklahoma State vs. UConn, and North Carolina vs. Chaminade. The Maui Invitiational will begin on Nov. 21. Battle For Atlantis will be held in The Bahamas starting on Nov. 23. Its matchups include VCU vs. Baylor, Michigan State vs. St. John’s, Louisville vs. Old Dominion, and Wichita State vs. LSU.

On Nov. 24 at Fullerton, California, the Wooden Legacy Tournament will start. It will feature UCLA vs. Portland, Dayton vs. Nebraska, Virginia Tech vs. New Mexico, and Texas A&M vs. Cal-State Northridge. The Preseason NIT tournament will be held in Brooklyn starting on Nov. 24. Its semifinal games will be West Virginia vs. Illinois and Florida State vs. Temple.

The Puerto Rico Tip-off will be held in San Juan beginning Nov. 17. Matching up in the quarterfinals will be Xavier vs. Missouri, Clemson vs. Davidson, Arizona State vs. Northern Iowa, and Oklahoma vs. Tulane. The AdvoCare Invitational will start Nov. 24 in Orlando. Squaring off will be Gonzaga vs. Quinnipiac, Seton Hall vs. Florida, Iowa State vs. Indiana State, and Miami vs. Stanford.

Other preseason tournaments include the Cancun Challenge, Charleston Classic, Las Vegas Classic, Las Vegas Invitational, Legends Classic, Paradise Jam, 2K Sports Classic, Global Sports Classic, CBE Classic, Hall-of-Fame Tipoff Classic, Men Who Speak Up Main Event, Barclays Center Classic, and the Holiday Festival.
