Tim Tebow leaves Arizona Fall League game with leg injury

Tim Tebow’s baseball pursuit may have suffered a minor setback on Monday after suffering an apparent leg injury

Tim Tebow has captivated everyone in the sports world once again in 2016, this time he’s doing so by pursuing a dream of being a Major League Baseball Player. He’s currently doing some work in the Arizona Fall League, but on Monday, the pursuit of that baseball dream hit a minor setback.

Tebow was playing for Scottsdale Scorpions on Monday, and as he was attempting to show off his base-stealing skills, this is where the unfortunate happened.

As he was trying to steal second base following reaching on a fielder’s choice, the former Heisman winner from the University of Florida was gunned out and slid a little awkwardly into the base, coming up lame with the injury according to MLB.com.

"Tebow had reached on a fielder’s choice and then attempted to steal his second base of the Fall League. He was thrown out by Orioles catcher Austin Wynns and slid awkwardly into second base. Tebow popped up holding his right leg, below the knee. He walked off on his own gingerly and was replaced in left field by the Phillies’ Aaron Brown."

Right now, there’s no telling what the extent of the injury is, just that he had to leave the game after suffering it. The only presumable light at the end of the tunnel here is that Tebow was able to walk off under his own power, which is really always a good sign.

Tebow announced earlier this year that he was deciding to pursue becoming a professional baseball player, even being signed by the New York Mets, He got off to a hot start, hitting a homer off the first pro pitch that he saw. However, things in the Arizona Fall League have not gone all that well, as prior to the injury on Monday, Tebow was batting just ,147.
