The NBA on TNT crew brilliantly set their Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook matchup promo to ‘Hello’ by Adele

Since NBA free agency, everyone has had the events of Thursday night circle on their calendars—or at least basketball fans have. At Oracle Arena on Thursday, the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder will face off. More specifically, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook will face one another for the first time since the former bolted to the Bay Area, leaving the latter behind.

Needless to say, the bad blood between these two superstars has been boiling all offseason. Though they can try to play it off, you can tell that Westbrook has a rooted hatred of his former teammate within him. Likewise, you can tell that there’s some semblance of animosity within KD about Russ.

However, these two once made the perfect pair on the basketball court. With Kevin Durant being the silky-smooth star and Westbrook being the violently aggressive and athletic guard, it was picturesque in OKC. But apparently, it wasn’t meant to last. Subsequently, it was only fitting that the NBA on TNT would have a bit of fun with their promo. In doing so, they found the perfect song for this duel: Adele’s “Hello:”

No matter how many times you let it loop, you still find yourself laughing at that. It’s absolutely perfectly done and the perfect choice of song and stylings for that promo.

Of course, the likelihood of Thursday’s matchup being as seamless as Adele’s vocals is quite slim. In fact, you can expect to see the Thunder-Warriors game get chippy early and often. However, that doesn’t mean afterwards we can’t all look back on what this duo used to be and think sadly about all the heartache they caused one another—even if it clearly doesn’t tear them apart (anymore).
