The Tennessee Titans and San Diego Chargers will do battle at Qualcomm Stadium on Sunday, in a classic AFC matchup.

On Sunday, the Tennessee Titans will travel to San Diego to take on the Chargers, in what should be one of the better matchups of the week. San Diego is coming off a tough road loss to the Denver Broncos last week, as they just did not have enough to beat their divisional rival. Tennessee destroyed the Jacksonville Jaguars, dominating their fellow AFC South opponent on both sides of the ball.

The Chargers are one of the harder teams to predict in the NFL, as they have really be in every game they have played this season. Their biggest bugaboo has been letting games slip away in the end, which has resulted in them being in last place in the tough AFC West. Quarterback Philip Rivers continues to be one of the better signal-callers in the game, despite leading an offense that has been decimated with injuries

San Diego lost star wide receiver Keenan Allen to a torn ACL in Week 1, and they have a few banged up wideouts in this one as well. Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin are both listed as questionable, and stud rookie tight end Hunter Henry has been ruled out. It will be up to Melvin Gordon to shoulder the load if Williams and or Benjamin cannot go on Sunday.

Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has been playing some of the best ball in the league as of late, and is fresh off a two touchdown game in which he completed over 80 percent of his passes. In fact, over the last four weeks, Mariota is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes, while throwing for ten touchdowns against one interception. He should be able to move the ball through the air against a suspect San Diego secondary.

Three Stars Prediction

1. Marcus Mariota

Expect a big game out of Mariota, who has established himself as one of the best young quarterbacks in the league. He is playing incredible football lately, and has really done a nice job making things happen with a less than stellar receiving corps. Tight end Delanie Walker is out this week, but Mariota should be able to find other players to step up.

2. Melvin Gordon

The San Diego Chargers receivers are all banged up, which means it should be a heavy dose of Gordon on Sunday. Gordon has become a very reliable back for the Chargers, and has shaken off the bust label from a year ago. He has the full trust of Rivers and the coaching staff, and could reach the end zone a couple times against the Titans.

3.DeMarco Murray

One big reason for the development of Mariota in his second season has been the play of running back DeMarco Murray. Murray is showing the kind of workhorse ability that he did in his best season in Dallas, and it is causing defenses to respect the run. Expect a big day out of Murray  tomorrow, as San Diego struggles to stop the run consistently.

Odds

The San Diego Chargers are favorites tomorrow, but this game could really go either way. The Bolts are listed as a four-point favorite against the Titans, and the over/under is set at 47. Expect a ton of points in this one.

Next Week

The Titans will head back home to host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The Chargers will stay at Qualcomm, as they take on Miami in another AFC matchup.
