Here’s what we learned from an embarrassing display of officiating in Seattle on Monday night.

There cannot be a Monday Night Football game in Seattle without controversy. On Monday night, the Buffalo Bills learned the struggles of the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, as they were the latest to fall victim to bad officiating in the pacific northwest against the Seattle Seahawks.

What started off as a great shootout between two teams suddenly turned into everyone talking about officials yet again. It wasn’t just the botched call on the field goal either, they made terrible calls throughout the entire night and they once again put the league in a bad light on national television. Here are three things learned from Monday Night Football.

3. Tyrod Taylor is tough as nails

He didn’t get the win, but give it up for Tyrod Taylor. The Bills quarterback played the best game of his career in a tough environment on the road. Just when he could have gotten down over the deficit and bad officiating, he fought his heart out to get his team back in the game and gave them a chance to win at the end of the game.

2. It’s better to be lucky than good

The Seahawks have five wins on the season, but they just as easily could have lost a couple more on the year. This isn’t the first time the team has escaped with a win at home and they’re mentally sound in close games. Add in the little boost of a bad call and Seattle has captured lightning in a bottle. It’s been this way for over four years now and give them credit for getting the wins. They don’t fold late.

1. The officiating problem has entered crisis mode in the NFL

Whether it’s been the Hail Mary, the batted ball out of the end zone or now the field goal, the growing officiating problem has been highlighted on display in the worst of ways. Even more surreal that all has happened in the same venue benefiting the same team, but it’s been going on everywhere around the league. Even the Seahawks themselves has been on the wrong end of several bad calls. This league is at an all-time low with their officials and it’s at a point where ratings are down and people are over it. The league has to stop the bleeding.
