Joe Williams rips off season-long touchdown run (Video)

Utah Utes running back Joe Williams ran right through the Arizona State defense for an 82-yard touchdown run.
Coming off a week in which they suffered just their second loss of the season to No. 4 Washington, the 15th ranked Utah Utes needed a win against conference foe Arizona State.
Just when the Sun Devils had thought that they had a bit of momentum heading into the half, especially following this insane N’Keal Harry touchdown, Joe Williams took it right back.
On the first play of the first drive of the third quarter for the Utah offense, the senior running back took the hand-off, made a man miss, and won the 82-yard foot race to the end zone.
Once Williams made that first cut and broke into the second level of the defense, it was all but a matter of seconds before he found himself catching his breath in the back of the end zone, extending Utah’s lead to 28-20.
For Williams, that season-long dash would be his seventh rushing touchdown on the season, all of which have come in the last four games.

Williams has come on strong in the second half of the season in what has truly been an odd season for him. He missed four games during the middle of the season shortly after announcing his retirement from football.
After leaving the sport due to his body feeling “worn out,” Williams had a change of heart after a number of injuries left Utah’s running back corps depleted. It was a smart decision for Williams, who broke the schools’ all-time single game rushing yardage record in his second game out of retirement. Against UCLA on Oct. 22, he racked up 332 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries.
