Michigan redecorates Iowa’s pink visitor’s locker room (Video)

Jim Harbaugh and Michigan clearly were not feeling the traditional vibe of the Iowa visitor’s locker room

There are a lot of traditions in college football, and one of them as it pertains to the Iowa Hawkeyes has to do with the color of the visitor’s locker room. For those who don’t know by now, legendary Iowa coach Hayden Fry had the visitor’s locker room inside Kinnick Stadium painted pink as a way to play some mind games with the opposing team. It can be looked at as a tad sexist, maybe, but it still stands to this day.

Well, with Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines paying a visit to Kinnick on Saturday for a primetime Big Ten contest, the vibe of the locker room was not going to fly with them as they march toward the College Football Playoff.

So, what did the Michigan football staff do? Naturally, they did a little redecorating.

Now this could have been anyone’s idea, yes, but come on — this had Harbaugh written all over it. Probably before the season even began Harbaugh had this plan in mind knowing that he and his team were going on the road to take on the Hawkeyes. I’d make a safe bet that this was completely his call and you can add it to the list of totally awesome things that he has pulled off as Michigan head coach.

Heading into this matchup with Iowa, Michigan is undefeated and the No. 3 team in the College Football Playoff rankings. They’re firmly in position to be playing for a national championship if they can keep it up the rest of the way, and they’re clearly not gonna let a pink locker room get to them.
