Seth Russell injury update: Baylor QB diagnosed with dislocated ankle
By Jack Crosby
Baylor quarterback Seth Russell suffered yet another injury setback on Saturday and the diagnosis is in
Saturday afternoon the Baylor Bears are taking on the Oklahoma Sooners in a crucial Big 12 matchup, and unfortunately, Baylor signal-caller Seth Russell did not get to end the day under center.
In the third quarter against Oklahoma on Saturday, Russell suffered a pretty gruesome leg injury that ended his day. From the onset, you could tell that the news coming from this one was going to be less than positive, and that is indeed the case.
Early reports from Baylor show that Russell suffered a dislocated ankle, however, he will be undergoing some more tests throughout the day on Saturday to make sure that’s the only problem.
While a dislocated ankle isn’t a positive diagnosis by any means, hopefully the tests come back showing that’s all that he’s suffering from.
You really do hate to see this for a young man like Russell who has been through so much just to be on the football field again. Last season Russell was looking like a legitimate Heisman contender for Baylor before suffering a broken neck that required surgery. Few athletes, especially football players, can come back successfully from a broken neck, but that is indeed what Russell did to take the reins for the Bears this season.

Now, though, his season is likely over, and as a senior, you can only hope that he can heal this up quickly so he can get ready for a potential career in the NFL down the road with some organization.
As more information becomes available on the condition of Russell, we will be sure to keep you updated.
