West Virginia wide receiver Ka’Raun White hauled in a catch vs Texas that went for a score and will go down as a catch of the year nominee.

The West Virginia Mountaineers were put on upset alert by many across the college football landscape as they traveled to Austin to take on the suddenly resurgent Texas Longhorns.

No one bothered to tell West Virginia that, however, as the Mountaineers are cruising in the first half against Charlie Strong’s team. One of the plays of the day so far will end up going down as one of the best plays of the week and probably the year as well.

West Virginia wide receiver Ka’Raun White is continuing the recent history of great Mountaineer receivers when he made an acrobatic catch in the end zone.

The catch is so nice that is merits looking at it twice, so check out the slo-mo replay.

The score gave Dana Holgorsen’s team a 17-3 lead early in the second quarter and even more momentum to put away the Longhorns in a crucial Big 12 battle. With that score, West Virginia has now outscored Texas 17-0 since allowing a 27-yard field goal on the first possession of the game.

White has three catches for 53 yards on the day and the 29-yard touchdown at the time of publishing but it looks like he could be in line for a monster performance unless the Texas secondary can find a way to disrupt Skyler Howard and the Mountaineers passing attack.
