Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan was ejected on Sunday, the second time this year he has been disqualified.

The Tennessee Titans have been able to emerge as a solid football team this season thanks to the great play of its underrated offensive line. This front five for the Titans loves to get after its opponents.

Well, the Titans will have to play the rest of their Week 10 game on Sunday without starting offensive tackle Taylor Lewan. Lewan’s short fuse got the best of him, as he was ejected for shoving an official in the first half versus Green Bay.

Lewan didn’t keep it tight on Sunday. #TitanUp has been the Titans’ mantra the last couple of seasons, but Lewan didn’t do his job in this one against the Packers. Tennessee might be up early on the Packers, but Green Bay does have a quarterback more than capable of orchestrating a comeback in Aaron Rodgers.

Tennessee is a run-first offense that struggles to maintain leads. Losing Lewan for the ball game only hurts the Titans if they want to beat the Packers at home on Sunday afternoon. Tennessee needs to win to keep pace with the rival Houston Texans in the AFC South race.

Beating the Packers at home still matters in the psyche of this Titans team. Green Bay had been an elite team for much of the last decade, but this isn’t the same caliber team we are used to. Tennessee seems to be the better team on Sunday and it’d debatable if they’re better overall. Regardless, they can’t afford to do anything stupid like what Lewan did if they want to win big games or compete for a playoff spot in the AFC South.
