The Clash Royale team revealed the latest card to hit the arena: The Tornado. Now available in game, we cover the essential info for this new spell card.

Unlike the Clash of Clans team, the Clash Royale dev team seems to never sleep. Seemingly every week, players are treated to a new card, in-game adjustments, videos, or new events. Last week the latest card debuted, one set to disrupt almost every attack strategy.

Introducing the Tornado Spell. Unlocked at Arena 6 (builder’s workshop), the spell card will cost three elixir and has a massive radius of five tiles.

However, it is the card mechanics that make this one a very unique addition. The Tornado spell will move troops toward the center of where it is placed in the arena. There is a small amount of damage inflicted as well, but it is the path switch that is the real factor here.

A Counter for Tanks

The new epic-level spell will be a great counter to heavy tank attack strategies. Now when a Giant or Golem is approaching, the Tornado spell can drag the unit and any support behind it to the middle of the map, allowing both towers to fire away at once.

The card only lasts three seconds, so it will be important to play it just as the troops have crossed the bridge. The card combines well with a distracting defensive building, such as the cannon, that will serve as a new lock on point for opposition troops displaced to the middle.

Keep in mind, however, that the spell card will not damage buildings or prevent your opponents units from still attacking. The focus of the card is to displace and weaken part of the opposing army .

Using the Tornado card, players can effectively move single troops or entire waves from one side of the map to the other. Good luck and let us know what you think of the new Clash Royale card in the comments section below.
