Four Purdue football players have been suspended for an alleged sexual assault charge.

Two female students claimed they were sexually assaulted by four members of Purdue’s football team. The accusers’ lawyer issued a press release detailing the circumstance.

The Indiana based law-firm of Massillamany & Jeter LLP, will be representing the two female Purdue students.

According to the press release, the alleged assault took place on October 13th at the players off-campus house. Purdue officials and police were both notified of the incident.

With the investigation pending, the four players have not been names.

At the time, the Lafayette Journal & Courier, published a report about the local police department investigating a sexual assault. They were not aware that the assault involved any Purdue players.

All parties involved cooperated with the West Lafayette Police Department. They took statements from the four players and two accusers, then forwarded them to the local prosecutor’s office. After reviewing the evidence, they did not file any criminal charges.

The Journal & Courier obtained copies of the police statements. The accusers did consent to intercourse with two men, but not all four.

Julie Rosa, Vice President of Strategic Communications at Purdue, confirmed the reports to the Journal & Courier.

“Under Title IX, Purdue is required to conduct an internal investigation of any allegations of sexual assault,” Rosa said.

In lawyer Mario Massillamany’s press release, he also said that another person has claimed sexual assault by a Purdue football player. He is making his firm available to all sexual assault victims who are afraid to come forward.

“If there are others out there who have been victimized in this manner, we encourage them to contact us to get the justice they deserve,” Massillimany said.
