Week 12 of the college football season will make a stop in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday. The winless Austin Peay Governors (0-10) will head north to Commonwealth Stadium to face the 5-5 Kentucky Wildcats. Austin Peay seeks their first win of what has been a dreadful season, while the Cats can become bowl-eligible by handing them another loss.

Last week, three of the top five teams in the country went down with surprising defeats. So anything could and possibly will happen when things get started this week in the Bluegrass State. Plus, it’s Senior Night in Lexington, so it’s going to be a big day for sure.

On paper, Kentucky could march all over the Governors at home. They’ve had a couple of rough weeks in the SEC, getting beaten up by Georgia and Tennessee. So they have some frustrations to air out when this game gets underway. But you have to hope that head coach Mark Stoops isn’t looking ahead to next week, when his Cats face in-state rival Louisville.

Austin Peay hasn’t won a game since October 18, 2014, when they handed Murray State a 20-13 loss.  Not getting a win over this team would be highly ill-advised for Coach Stoops. A win for them makes them bowl-eligible for the first time since 2010. A win for the Governors would at least secure a win on the season. Not much else in store for them, however a win here would still be pretty big.
