Su’a Cravens is ignoring his mother who supports the Dallas Cowboys

A NFL rookie isn’t playing around with his mother ahead of a big game.

With a large Thanksgiving matchup looming between the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys, rookie linebacker Su’a Cravens has expressed he will not be speaking to his mother this week.

This is because Cravens’ mother happens to be a diehard Cowboys fan. According to ESPN, the former USC Trojan received two calls from his mom after the Redskins defeated Green Bay Sunday, but he refused to answer.

Yes, this is serious. Following Dallas’ first defeat of Washington in Week 2, Cravens answered the phone to “How bout them Cowboys?!” It was his mother on the line. To avoid any back and forth this week, it seems the linebacker will just be ignoring his mother altogether.

This certainly is an interesting approach to say the least. This seems to be more of a kidding game between Cravens and his mother, but in a week where we should be giving thanks, this might not be the best route to take. When asked why he would ignore the woman who birthed him, Cravens had this to say: “Does she know she gave birth to me? She should be cheering for me.” In mom’s defense, she grew up in Texas and was raised a Cowboys fan. Still, you think that might go all out the window once your son was drafted into the NFL.

Cravens’ mother is planning on attending the game Thursday in Dallas, and according to her son, she owns a split Redskins-Cowboys jersey. No matter what, someone is going to be unhappy by the end of the night. This sounds like no matter which way this game goes, the Thanksgiving dinner afterwards is going to be extremely uncomfortable. Nothing like a little family drama for the holidays.
